Triple Silver in Austin
On April 25, 2026, the energy on Lady Bird Lake in Austin was electric as teams from across Texas and beyond gathered for the 26th annual Austin Dragon Boat Festival 2026. Set against the backdrop of Festival Beach, the event once again blended high-energy racing with culture, community, and purpose—bringing together more than 26 teams and hundreds of paddlers for a day of competition and celebration.
Among them, Dallas United Crew PINK (DUC PINK) delivered a performance that was as inspiring as it was impressive.
Strength, Spirit, and Silver Finishes
Competing in the Breast Cancer division, DUC PINK secured 2nd place in all three races—a remarkable achievement that speaks not only to their competitive edge, but to the resilience and unity that define the team. Dragon boat racing is the ultimate team sport—22 paddlers moving in perfect sync—and DUC PINK proved they belong among the best on the water.
But the results only tell part of the story.
A First Festival for Many
For many members of DUC PINK, this was their first-ever dragon boat festival. First races. First starting lines. First time hearing the drum echo across the water as adrenaline takes over.
And yet—you wouldn’t have known it.
They showed up with determination, quickly finding their rhythm and leaning into the teamwork that makes dragon boating so powerful. The experience wasn’t just about racing—it was about stepping into something bigger, embracing the unknown, and discovering strength together.
More Than a Race
The Austin Dragon Boat Festival is more than just a sporting event. It’s a long-standing cultural celebration that honors Asian and Pacific Islander heritage while fostering connection through sport.
Within that, the Breast Cancer division holds special meaning. Dragon boating has long been associated with recovery, empowerment, and community for survivors—turning the water into a place of healing as much as competition.
DUC PINK embodies that mission.
Looking Ahead
Three races. Three podium finishes. Countless moments of growth.
The 2026 Austin festival marks an exciting milestone for DUC PINK—not just for what they achieved, but for what’s ahead. With a strong mix of seasoned paddlers and new teammates, the foundation is set for even bigger things in the seasons to come.
If this weekend was any indication, they’re just getting started.
